34th Golden Raspberry Awards (Honoring Worst's of Hollywood) - Complete Winners List

Golden Raspberry Awards is a parodic award ceremony that honors the worst Hollywood films of every year. The awards will be announced the night before 'The Oscars'. Sandra Bullock was the first person to win both Razzies and Oscars for 'Performance in a lead role' in the same year. She is also the first person to attend and receive Razzies.

Movie 43 and After Earth won 3 awards each, with the former winning Worst Picture. Grown Ups 2 led the night with nine nominations, but earned the biggest shutout in Razzie history by failing to take home a single prize.

Intelligent scripting, great direction made this retro-thriller not only click at the Box Office but also a critic favorite

Shuddh Desi Romance

A quirky Rom-Com made memorable by the lead cast, especially Parineeti Chopra

Shahid

Movie based on the tragic real life story of activist-lawyer Shahid Azmi - hard hitting and powerful

Lootera

A Beautiful tragic love story, definitely one of the best of 2013 if not the best. Great acting, direction, locations, music etc made the film something to cherish. We also saw classy avatar of the massy Sonakshi Sinha

The Lunchbox

Critic's favorite movie of 2013, the surprise hit of the year. Terrific perfomances by Irrfan, Namrata, Nawazudin, a film that touched every one in one way or the other.

Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Returns

A sequel that was as good as the prequel. Good crime-romance-thriller-drama

Bhaag Milkha Bhaag

A biopic on the life of Flying Sikh Milkha Singh with knock out acting by Farhan Akthar.

Kai Po Che

A Good film can be made from a bad/average source material was proved by KPC.

Raanjhanaa

another beautiful tragic romantic saga of 2013 made special by AR Rahman songs and great Bollywood debut by Dhanush

Madras Café

A fictionalized version of events leading to Rajiv Gandhi assassination. a gripping thriller, well made too

Haridas

Tells the story of a 10-year old mother less autistic boy and his bonding with father and a school teacher

Thanga Meengal

Director Ram's 2nd film after hard hitting 'Katrathu Tamil. Shows the intense and beautiful relationship between father & daughter, the father's role being played beautifully by the director himself.

Pandiya Nadu

A hard hitting commercial, yet realistic revenge drama. Vishal's career best acting. Superb 2nd half.

Vidiyum Munn

An emotional thriller set on events happening in 1/2 days.

Varuthapedatha Valibhar Sangham

The best comedy mass entertainer of the year. Entertaining script, rocking performances, good songs.

Vishwaroopam

Kamal Hassan's magnum opus, his take on Terrorism, shot on large canvas, the hugely hyped film met expectations

Soodhu Kaavum

The most different yet entertaining film of the year about a kidnapping that goes wrong. Vijay Sethubathy did it again

Maryaan

Great acting, music, superb direction makes this one of the best of 2013.

Onnayum Aatinkuttiyum

Myskin back in form, did a great job in acting department too. A dark tale happening in city in one night

Moodar Koodam

Story of a kidnapping that goes right, a small gem of an entertainer.

Raja Rani

A Good Rom-Com in Tamil after a long gap. The acting, music, frames it worth watching

Mollywood 2013 round up Part 1 - Analysis of Malayalam Film Industry in 2013

In 2012, Mollywood saw not only large number of hits but also big & genuine [hit from theatricals itself] hit too. Compared to that 2013 is way off the chart. Number of genuine/big hits are on the lower side this year.

In 2013 Mollywood had 158 releases [about 12 dubbed films too] which is by far the biggest year ever in Malayalam as far the number of releases in a calendar year is concerned. Its also the largest number in the entire country this year, no other language film industry had this many releases in 2013. Eventhough fewer genuie hits, 2013 saw many films entering safe zone thanks to the ever rising Satellite rights, figures even touched 6+ crores as per rade reports.

While revenue from music cd sales has diminished rights from mobile companies and fm stations are helping the industry. Also now producers are selling youtube and other online streaming rights too to counter piracy.

Total investment crossed 300 crore mark, and about 20 films can be called hits and 20 other earning break even/safe status. Budget wise there has been discipline this year, according to data from KPA only one film crossed 5/6 crore budget mark. The number of films produced with the help of Kerala State Film Development Corporation has also increases this year to 36 from 30 last year. 2013 also saw about 80 debutant Directors & Producers entering the industry.

With many huge projects announced/planned already involving almost all big stars of Kerala, hoping for a better 2014.
