 Ezhu Sundara Rathrikal enters profit zone even before release


 ESR has been in the news for varous reasons - 7th movie of Dileep-Lal Jose, Writer James Albert working with Lal Jose after All time blockbuster Classmates, the unique lead cast etc. Now the latest that we hear about the movie is that the film is already profitable for the producer.

The film's budget is estimated to be around 6.5 crore [Print & publicity additional] and from Satellite rights [Surya TV] itself producer has earned about 6-6.5 crores which is a record. Various other rights combined the film makes 'table profit'. Dileep who plays the male lead has been paid about 2.5cr which include distribution rights of certain regions too.

The film is all set to hit the screens on December 20th as Christmas release.

Thalaivaa Worldwide Box Office Report



Ilayathalapathy's Thalaivaa Released on August 9th, 2013 Worldwide, except Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry. The film opened to thundering response wherever it was released, and held on well despite mixed Reviews.
Here are the collection details of the movie from what ever circuits available

In Kerala 'Thalaivaa' was audiences first choice despite releasing alongside 5 high profile releases (4 of them Malayalalm). The film which released in 120 screens came on top in the EID weekend beating all other releases by a handsome margin. The 4 days gross is estimated to be around 3.5-4 crores.

In Karnataka the film released in 60+ screens grossing about 3-3.5 crores in 3 days

In US the film released in about 50 screens and grossed 1.40 crores in opening weekend

In UK the film grossed about 1.19 crores from 36 screens

The Telugu version 'Anna' got a distributors share of about 2.4 crores in 3days from Andhra, which is the biggest for a Vijay film.

As far as Indian Box Office is concerned, Iron Man 3 took the 2nd best opening ever & is the biggest hit this year so far. Fast & Furious which took the 3rd biggest opening ever is the 2nd biggest hit. Man of Steel, world War z has an above average run. The Croods was the biggest animation hit of the year so far. Epic took one of the biggest opening for an animation movie in India. The much awaited Hang Over proved to be a dud. Last year's Life of Pi continued its tremendous run in 2013 too, completed 200 days in many centers where even local movies didn't had such a long run for quite a while.
