'Thanmathra' fame Arjun Lal is back in Mollywood

 

 Remember Arjun Lal who impressed every one in his first movie outing itself, playing Mohanlal's son is the much acclaimed super hit 'Thanmathra' [He also won State Award for his performance]. After a sabbatical of 8 years he is back in Mollywood, this time as hero. The film is titled 'Asha Black'

The film directed by debutant John Robinson will have a new face as the female lead playing title role of 'Asha'. The film will be a female oriented romantic thriller  where Arjun will be playing 'Rohith'. Tamil super star Sarath Kumar also plays an important role in the film. Joy Mathew (Shutter), Bagath, Manoj K Jayan, Kottayam Nazeer forms the rest of the main cast. Legendary lyricist Late shri Girish Puthanchery's son Dinanath will write the lyrics and music by Jesin George.

Shooting begins this August. Kochi, New Delhi, Bangalore will be the locations.

VKP's next starring Indrajith titled 'A-Ku-Pu'

One of the complaints that most Malayalam film/language lovers had regarding recent Mollywood films is the trend of using English titles. They felt the good old titles with 'scent of the soil' is missing. Then came some new generation films with titles like 'Ninne Kollum Njanum Chavum, 'Natholi Oru Cheriya Menalla' 'Otta Oruthiyum sheriyalla' etc which also these so called people couldn't agree upon. Now the latest entry in the bandwagon of weird/catchy titles is VKP. His next film has been titled 'A-Ku-Pu' [Asooya Kushumbu Pucham].

According to the Director he film will be a Cynical satire in the likes of the cult classic 'Panchavadi Palam (1984)'. The film will portray certain 'typical' characters of Malayalis adds him. The film will be scripted by two Civil servants Prashanth & Ambady. Indrajith plays the title character Shankaran Vatsyayanan who is an aspiring politician. Rest of the cast will be announced later.

According to the writers the film will be socio-political drama with a hint of magical realism. Shooting begins this November & releasing planned for early 2014

Dhoom 3 release postponed ?

Dhoom 3 is one of the most awaited project of 2013. The filming started in June 2012 and then the release date was announced to be as Christmas 2013. Sources within Yashraj clarified that they need that time for post production as the makers intend to match Hollywood standards. Eventhough fans were initially disappointed with the news they knew since it was an Aamir Khan starrer it would be something special.

The news that's now coming out is that the film has been postponed from Christmas 2013 due to the demands from Aamir Khan. Aamir wanted more time to complete the film, which will leave them with little time to do the promotion work. His last flick 'Talaash' was also postponed by about a year thanks to Aamir Khan's 'perfectionism', and when the film released every one were perplexed why & what was all those delay about.

Anyhow Christmas is a golden time at the Box Office. So there are two film waiting to pounce on the date if the rumor did came out to be true. One is Akshay Kumar's Thuppakki Remake [now scheduled for January 1st/2nd week release] & Salman Khan's Mental [now scheduled for January last week release]. Both films are in the final stages of shooting. Boh Akshay & Salman are good friends and if one decide first the other will be more than happy to give in the most precious date of the year. But Since Akshay have 2 big releases coming in the next few months its highly likely that he will prefer a January release.

Anyway its all speculations at the moment. Hope YRF will come out with a statement in the coming days....Stay Tuned...

'Gangster' to finally start rolling - Aashiq Abu, Mammootty

The much awaited and long delayed Aashiq Abu - Mammootty project is finally going to start rolling by December this year according to the director. The Director himsel broke the news via his social media page. The film is being planned as a Vishu (April) 2014 release. Pre Production is in its final stage. Ahmad Siddique who acted in Salt N' Pepper & Thattathin Marayathu along with 22FK, Da Thadiya writer Abhilash Kumar [Actress Lena's husband] will be penning the script. Madhu Neelakandan will wield the camera, while Deepak Dev will handle the Music department. 'Gangster' will be the first big screen venture of Open Your Mouth Cinemas' (OPM) founded by Aashiq Abu. Aashiq is presently busy with his film titled 'Idukki Gold'.
