A scene of moderate violence features when the main character threatens a local villain's son by holding a razor close to his throat. He lets the man go and is then beaten by local men. This includes blows with sticks and punches as the hero is kicked to the ground. There is no sight of blood or injury in this brief scene.

There is also a scene in which there is a partial, mouthed use of strong language in one fleeting moment where the main character looks at a bridge and his lips form the word, 'bh** ch**'. The film also contains Hindi and English uses of mild bad language, including, 'saala', 'haramkhor', ' shit' and 'ass', as well as some mild sex references.

Director Ayan Mukerji made a brilliant debut with 2009 Hit Wake Up Sid! Wake Up Sid was produced by Karan Johar with Ranbir Kapoor played the lead. Four years later the hit combination of Ayan-Karan-Ranbir is coming with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewaani (YJHD) YJHD is the first film of Ranbir Kapoor in 2013. The actor had a rocking 2011 & 2012 with Rockstar & Barfi, both bagged him the best actor awards. YJHD is the third film of Karan Johar. The director had a bad year so far with his Bombay Talkies (Co-Director) & Gippi (Producer) failed to impress at the boxoffice despite good reviews. 

Story

Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the story of 4 friends played by Ranbir Kapur , Aditya Roy Kapur, Deepika Padukone & Kalki and their meeting after 8 years. Again they part their ways just to meet each other again to celebrate the wedding of Kalki. 

Positives 

Ranbir Kapoor as Bunny is superb. He already proved his acting credibility with award winning performance in Rockstar & Barfi and in YHJD he continued the same. His dance in the chartbuster song Batameez Dil song is fantastic. Be it emotional scene or romantic scene, you just can't take your eyes from his frame. Aashiqui 2 hero Aditya Roy Kapur is super as his friend Avi. Both Ranbir and Aditya share a terrific chemistry as best pals. Deepika looks great, but her acting is strictly OK except the climax scenes.

Pritam's music is another pluspoint of the film. All songs are good and picturised superbly. Batameez Dil & Balam Pichkari are already chartbsters. Choreography of Batameez Dil & Via Agra are top class. Good to see Madhuri Dixit on screen after a long time with her superb dance in the song Via Agra. Cinematography by V.Manikandan is first rate. 

Negatives 

Story & Screenplay! Yes you heard it right. Story of YJHD is too confusing. Infact very weak. Entertainment factor is missing here. And a slow paced running time of 2hr 45mins. Kunaal Kapur Roy is totally wasted! Ranbir's scenes in US are not executed properly. While watching the film I had a feeling that Kallki is miscasted. The talented actress overacted at some scenes. The climax was too rushed & disappointed on a bad note! 

Overall Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is hugely disappointing! One of the weakest film coming from Dharma productions. The film is all set to have a phenomenal opening with 38-40crore, thanks to superhit music, excellent promotion & Ranbir Kapoor's star power. Multiplexes will see top record opening for 2013 & single screens business will be average to bad. However film will drop from Monday onwards for sure. Still the opening weekend will help the film to avoid losses. 

Verdict - Khatranak Hai yeh Jawaani... 

Rating - 2.5/5! Just About Average!!! 

Box office Prediction - 82 crore!!!
